i talk and joke around a lot on the tl. i believe that people are influenced by fiction, but i don’t think it affects reality in a 1:1 ratio. people can consume media critically and can enjoy dark themes in fiction without glorifying them. i find the glorification of taboo topics to be very harmful and i don’t think it is a healthy coping mechanism. i engage in discourse occasionally.
